General information
The beautiful house built in 1856 stands free on 3 sides. It is based in the listed village of Peyriac de Mer. The house has a separate entrance (step!) and a staircase, which leads to the two upper floors.
! Therefore it is unfortunately not barrier-free!
The house is situated in the historic centre of the village, 1 minute walk from the bakery and the Vival Casino Superette, yet very quiet in a dead end road opposite of the park „Jardin Alexis Fabre“.
! Non-smoking house! Smoking is only allowed on the terrace.
! All sorts of parties especially hen parties are not allowed.

In the neighborhood
The house is located 100 m from the coast of the Etang de Bages in the Narbonnaise National Park.
in the village you can find a small marina, a giant boule and pétanque court, as well as a several tennis courts. Nearest bathing place is within 10 min walking distance. The famous, large beaches of Le Franqui and Leucate are easily reached by car. Port La Nouvelle with its fishing port, many fish shops and restaurants and a large multi-kilometer beach is 15 min away by car.
At the edge of the village breathtaking nature and rich bird life: within walking distance you can find flamingos, pelicans, glossy ibises, kingfishers, the hoopoe and swarms of bee-eaters.
There are 10 Michelin recommended and awarded restaurants in less than 20 km distance, including the 3-star restaurant „Auberge du Vieux Puits“ in Fontjoncouse, medaled in 2019, further on the „Le Portanel“ in Bages (accessible by bike) and the 1-star restaurant „Le Grand Cap“ in Leucate. At the „Grau de Leucate“ you can choose between 20 oyster „degustations“ where you buy from and eat directly at the producers. or you visit the nearby artist village Lagrasse and eat out at the Michelin recommended „Hostellerie des Corbières“. In Peyriac de Mer itself, without ever having to get in your car, you can choose all year long even in winter between a several restaurants and bistros offering lunch and/or dinner, including „O vieux Tonneau“ and „Bazard du Bled“.
You can walk on footbridges in the water or follow for miles the amazing paths along the coast. Nearby there are mountain tours in the Pays Cathare, the Cevennes or the Pyrenees.

How to get to Peyriac?
if you have no car, you can get to Peyriac by public transport using the bus from Narbonne to Perpignan
Train: TGV stations in Narbonne and Port La Nouvelle
Airports: Beziers (travel time 30 min), Montpellier (1 hour), Toulouse (1.5 hours), Marseille (2.5 hours)
You need approx. 2.5 hours to go to Barcelona by car – or just jump into the train!
